Since launching an Instagram account in September, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett's Gorillaz project has significantly stepped up its social media presence. The group posted a career-spanning timeline to their Instagram account last month, and, today, they've shared The Book of Noodle, a multimedia story released through their Twitter. The story follows Noodle as she escapes from "Plastic Beach." In the narrative, which features text and animated video clips, Noodle must defeat a shapeshifter named Mazuu and heads to London in a FedEx container.
In July, Damon Albarn told BBC that the Gorillaz's follow up to Plastic Beach would be ready "fairly soon" and that the group would begin to "get the whole Gorillaz thing together" in late 2016.
