Earlier this year, the Recording Academy announced that streaming-only albums would be available for Grammy consideration for the 59th Grammy Awards on February 12 2017. The artist that immediately came to mind following the announcement was Chance The Rapper, whose Coloring Book project became the first streaming-only release to chart on the Billboard 200 in May.

On Thursday, Billboard unveiled their Grammy preview issue with a conversation between cover stars Chance The Rapper, Alessia Cara, and Maren Morris. The three young artists discussed the possibility of being nominated for a Grammy, what they would wear to the awards show, and the upcoming presidential election.

In response to a hypothetical question about Grammy recognition, Chance responded, "If I get nominated, I’m going to throw a huge party in Chicago and I’ll fly in all my friends. We’ll celebrate the Grammys’ recognition of grass-roots independent artists and this new way of releasing music by nominating me. We’ll f—ing go crazy for, like, two days straight."
