The Hollywood Reporter reports that A$AP Rocky, Nas, and Jennifer Hudson will help round out the ensemble cast of a film called Monster, a joint production from Bron Studios, Tonik Productions and John Legend’s Get Lifted Film Co.
The film represents the full-length feature debut for its director, Anthony Mandler, known for a massive music video resumé that includes collabs with everyone from Bieber to Rihanna to Beyoncé. More recently, Mandler directed Drake's new short film, Please Forgive Me.
Among other details, THR revealed that the movie will also star Kelvin Harrison, Jr. of Roots reboot fame, and will follow "a 17-year-old honor student and aspiring filmmaker in Harlem, who is being charged with felony murder for a crime he says he didn’t commit." John Legend has signed on to produce, as has Nas, and both will reportedly be involved in soundtracking the film.
