After sharing his "Echo" video last November and his recent "Empty" video back in September, L.A. artist Kevin Abstract has finally announced a release date for his forthcoming project. As spotted by Pigeons & Planes, Kevin Abstract posted a graphic of his face overlaid with the words, "Kevin Abstract is releasing his family friendly debut album American Boyfriend on November 18th." As suggested by the playful and ironic tone of his rap group Brockhampton — who describe themselves as an "All-American boy band" — Kevin's statement is likely to be taken tongue-in-cheek.
American Boyfriend will be the follow-up project to Kevin Abstract's 2014 album MTV1987. While American Boyfriend was previously referred to his sophomore project, it seems that Kevin now wants to claim it as his debut album. So far, "Echo" and the Michael Uzowuru-produced "Empty" are the two confirmed tracks that will appear on the LP.
