Gorillaz have added to their series of multimedia stories: The Book Of 2D. It focuses on the animated band's frontman, and follows "books" from each of the other Gorillaz members, Noodle, Murdoc, and Russel.
Like the previous entries, The Book Of 2D reveals what happened to 2D after Plastic Beach, the third Gorillaz album, came out. After being swallowed by a whale named Massive Dick — who promptly dies from eating too much garbage — 2D is soon washed up on a beach, where he eats the whale carcass to survive. He stumbles upon a desert rave and decides to "have a gap year and find himself," taking a job weaving friendship bracelets. After he's fired, 2D returns home to London and rejoins Gorillaz.
