After premiering "Yellow," a new single from his American Boyfriend album, on Beats 1, Kevin Abstract has made the track available to stream and shared another new single called "Miserable America." The releases follow Abstract's video for "Empty," the leadoff single from his upcoming album debut project.
"Yellow" and "Miserable America" would seem like straightforward pop songs - he told Zane Lowe his inspiration for "Yellow" was Vanessa Carlton - if not for Abstract's personal songwriting. I just want help if, my best friend's racist / My mother's homophobic, I'm stuck in the closet / I'm still claustrophobic, I just wanna know shit / Well we all love Young Thug, he sings in opening lines of "Miserable America."
Kevin Abstract's American Boyfriend album is due out November 18 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes. Listen to "Miserable America" and "Yellow" below.
