Last night, Solange took the Saturday Night Live stage for the first time to play two cuts from her recent A Seat at the Table record, which debuted at No. 1. After being introduced by host Benedict Cumberbatch, Solange performed "Cranes in the Sky" donning an ethereal, glittery hairpiece and backed up by a full band who looked equally as celestial. Later on, Solange performed "Don't Touch My Hair," which featured a surprise appearance from collaborator Sampha. The two proceeded to get down on live TV, only interrupted by a solo dance break from Solange herself.
Afterwards, Solange went to Twitter to thank Saturday Night Live for the opportunity, and her band and choreographers. "I had a great time, even through the imperfections & nervousness," Solange writes.
