Way back in February, Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith made it very clear that he had grand ambitions for the label this year, sharing an Instagram post detailing the status of albums from signees Kendrick Lamar, Isaiah Rashad, SZA, Jay Rock, and Ab-Soul, among others.
But with the year nearly done, fans are still waiting for new releases from not only SZA, but Ab-Soul, who briefly returned with his "Huey Knew" video in October, but hasn't dropped much since. The problem, according to Tiffith, is that Ab-Soul and TDE recording and mixing engineer Derek "MixedbyAli" Ali "need 2 get da mixes right." If not, Tiffith tweeted, he'll have to put his foot down.
@abdashsoul & @MixedByAli holding up his album. I'm done takin the blame... they need 2 get da mixes right.. that's the hold up. Get at them https://t.co/wf6rDDYlRb
