Last week, The xx sealed their comeback with "On Hold," the first single from their upcoming third album. Yesterday, Nick Sylvester of GODMODE shared his remix of the track. It's subtitled "Have Fun And Pay Me," which was the message Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates had for The xx when he learned that "On Hold" sampled Hall and Oates’s “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do).” The xx's original, strung together on a background of upbeat electronic drums, contained no small measure of heartache. That's gone in GODMODE's version. Warm and vibrant crescendo's drive this house track's energy, which would sound right at home in Jamie xx's next DJ set. Listen below.
