On Tuesday morning, members of the presidential press pool reported that Kanye West had arrived at Trump Tower in Manhattan to meet with the President-elect. Shortly after, Kanye and Donald Trump walked down to the lobby of the building and posed for pictures, as Trump told reporters that the two had "been friends for a long time."
The meeting induced more than a few angry reactions online, and Kanye West took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to explain the reasons behind his visit to Trump Tower. "I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues," he wrote in a series of tweets. "These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago."
He continued: "I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change." Kanye concluded by tweeting "#2024." See Kanye West's tweets below.
