Lil Wayne's long-awaited Tha Carter V has been surrounded by controversy for as long as any of us can remember, but today, Birdman popped up to offer some vaguely hopeful words for fans wondering about the project's release date.
The Cash Money boss sat down with Travis Scott and Chase B for the latest episode of their Beats 1 show, .wav radio, and fielded a direct question about the long-delayed album: "It's definitely coming out," Birdman said, before offering some diplomatic words for Wayne:
"The situation with me and my son, I'm going to put it all behind us and just let it move forward," he said. "Wayne is one of the best artists ever to do the game, and I want to see him continue to do what he been doing, and I'm going to support whatever he's doing."
Naturally, the information Birdman offers here is vague at best, so no word on whether he and Wayne have reached any resolution in their ongoing financial and legal disputes or whatever it was Martin Shkreli was talking about.
The interview, which airs January 6 at 3 p.m., also apparently includes some info on the upcoming Cash Money documentary, and a surprise drop-in from Young Thug. More info here.
