In her speech, Monáe spoke to the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and women and told them to "continue to embrace the things that make you unique." She then led the audience into a performance of "Hell You Talmbout," and invited the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Dontre Hamilton, Mohamed Bah, and Jordan Davis to lead a "say his name" chant.
