Mavi Phoenix is an Austrian singer-songwriter whose off-kilter pop tunes fall somewhere in the realm of Sky Ferreira or Charli XCX. But the way her autotune-filtered vocals bounce off the straight piano intro to "Love Longtime" is totally unique. Just like her previous single "Quiet," the track builds into a punchy bop of a song that relishes deep bass and moments of weirdness.
For the video, "I spent the night in a Viennese hour hotel with two close friends," Mavi told The FADER in an email. "The location delivered the sense of privateness and secludedness that fits the song. Due to the fact that I was only surrounded by friends, my performance is as natural as it could get. All the light effects and colors in the video are analog since the room came with a crazy lighting system. The video doesn't tell a story — it's really about a momentum and open-ended questions."
