On Monday night, citizens of Yellow Springs, Ohio met to discuss solutions, following a police altercation that led to an arrest on New Years Eve. Among the concerned citizens at the meeting was Dave Chappelle, a longtime resident whose father was a professor at Antioch College in Yellow Springs.
During the meeting, Chappelle stood up to say a few words on the New Year's Eve incident, telling those assembled that Yellow Springs "has the opportunity to be a leader in progressive law enforcement." Chappelle also discussed the close-knit nature of the small town and asked the council to find police officers who represent the values and diversity of Yellow Springs.
