"Didn't your mother tell you love yourself?" U.K. artist Jorja Smith asks on her new song, "Beautiful Little Fools." The track, and accompanying video, was released today to mark International Women's Day. The video was filmed at London's Rivoli Ballroom and sees Smith playing three characters all at different levels of society. There's a singer, a glamorous customer of the high-end bar, and a waitress who serves her.
The Great Gatsby-esque visuals accompany the neo-soul ballad, which acts as a reminder for women to celebrate themselves and others at all times. In a statement about the song, Smith said: “I feel as young girls grow up, they’re slightly tainted by what the media says is ‘beautiful’ and I feel like my song can be a little help to them. We are all beautiful in our own individual and special ways.”
