Back in September, publishing house Simon & Schuster confirmed that they had struck a book deal with Gucci Mane. Today, the Atlanta rapper provided a look at his upcoming autobiography with a picture on Twitter. Simon & Schuster have announced that The Autobiography of Gucci Mane will be released on September 19.
In an interview with collaborator Marilyn Manson for his CR Men's Book cover story in February, Gucci Mane said that he had begun writing the book during his three-year stint in an Indiana federal penitentiary. "When I was locked up and they put me in the hole, this is what I was doing to keep my sanity. This is how I was protecting myself,” he told Manson.
The memoir, which was written with Neil Martinez-Belkin, is now available for pre-order. Read The FADER's comprehensive oral history of Gucci Mane and check out the Atlanta rapper's cover story from The FADER's Fall Fashion issue. Also, watch out interview with Gucci Mane at home below.
