Friends of Ebony Banks, a senior at Alief Hastings High School in Houston, recently organized a social media campaign aimed at getting her to meet Beyoncé. The #EBOBMEETSBEYONCE campaign coincided with a special early graduation ceremony held for Banks, who is battling stage 4 of a rare form of cancer.
The hashtag went viral and during the March 22 ceremony at MD Anderson Cancer Center where Banks is receiving treatment, she received a FaceTime call from Beyoncé.
In the exchange, Banks lays in a hospital bed and says, “I love you Beyoncé,” to which the superstar replies, “I love you.”
Fellow student Karina Gutierrez previously told ABC: ‘Beyoncé is one of her idols. She admires her so much."
Watch the clip from Bank's Snapchat and shared by Bey fansites, above.
