Zachary Cole Smith of DIIV has shared a cover of "Icehead," a track from (Sandy) Alex G's 2014 album DSU, reports Pitchfork. It's the first new music Smith has shared since checking into “long-haul inpatient treatment” in February, and announcing a four-summer date tour a month later. The new "Icehead" is a stripped-down version led by layered acoustic guitars urging out Alex G's abstract heartbreak, making for a gentle and exceedingly pretty return for Smith.
(Sandy) Alex G's new album Rocket is out May 19. Smith called "Bobby," Rocket's first single, "the most brutal love song since" Spiritualized's "Always Forgetting With You (The Bridge Song)"
