Since announcing their latest album, Humanz, last month, Gorillaz have been releasing a steady stream of singles to tide fans over. On Thursday night, the band finally released their first album since 2010's The Fall.
The virtual band has a lengty list of collaborators on the new LP. Grace Jones, Danny Brown, De La Soul, Pusha T, Kali Uchis, Kelela, Vince Staples, D.R.A.M., Popcaan, Mavis Staples, and more all appear.
According to Damon Albarn, the album's three tenets are "pain, joy, urgency." Albarn told his collaborators to "imagine you’re in America after the inauguration and it’s the worst-case scenario: how would you feel that night? Let’s make a party record about the world going fucking nuts.”
