In a new cover story for Billboard Miley Cyrus revealed that she has a new song coming out next week. According to the story, "Malibu" will becoming out May 11, and is a "breezy love song" about fiancé Liam Hemsworth that writer John Norris describes as "gimmick-free pop-rock unlike anything she has recorded before."
The single comes from Cyrus's currently untitled LP, which will be released later this year. Cyrus wrote all the lyrics and the melodies on the album, with producer Oren Yoel playing the instruments.
Elsewhere in the profile, Cyrus opines about Kendrick Lamar's "Humble," saying, "I also love that new Kendrick song: 'Show me somethin’ natural like ass with some stretch marks." She said that the lyric was a welcome reprieve from the gratuitous nature of some hip-hop, "I love that because it’s not 'Come sit on my dick, suck on my cock.' I can’t listen to that anymore."
"Malibu" will be available next Friday.
