Before he dove all the way into rapping, Dallas native T.Y.E. attended Abilene Christian University in West Texas on an opera singing scholarship. He left the school before graduating, but, in his new video for "Eternity," which premieres on The FADER today, T.Y.E. takes the train back to his alma mater to stage a senior recital on his own terms.
"This is me on my way back to Abilene Christian University for my senior recital with my voice teacher Paul Richardson Piersall Jr. conducting me. If only I had finished school," T.Y.E. told The FADER over email. "'Eternity" is a song about the choices we make to pursue happiness, the people we meet on our journey, and the gradual realization that life is actually heaven — unless the Devil corrupts your perspective. The sample is one of the last songs I sang with ACU A Capella Choir."
"Eternity" is taken from T.Y.E.'s upcoming 32 project is out June 9 on POW Recordings. Watch the new video above.
