20-year-old Southeast D.C. born, Maryland-based WillThaRapper took the DMV and beyond by storm last fall with his hard AF breakout hit “Pull Up Hop Out.” Since then, he’s been busy, releasing a handful of songs and tapes, and signing a deal with Republic Records. Today, he's premiering “BANDS UP” on The FADER, a scorching collaboration with Milkcrate founder and producer Aaron LaCrate, on which he hurls out amped up bars about setting hating fans straight, blasting into space from the booth, keeping his circle small, and what it means now that he's got his bands up.
“He threw on the beat and I did my thing. LaCrate knew my music and we vibed in the studio right from the start,” WillThaRapper told The FADER about the song. LaCrate, who is from Baltimore himself and has a history of working with DMV artists, shares he was all-in on working with Will. “WillTheRapper was a no brainer, the kid makes hits in his sleep. He's rolling with the big homie Omar from D1, so you know it's gonna be bonafide real shit.”
Listen to the song, slated to be a part of Aaron LaCrate’s upcoming Lil Crizzle project, above.
