The nominees for 69th Emmys were announced on Thursday, and Chance The Rapper is among the list of nominees.
The Chicago artist got the for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for his part on "Last Christmas," a song performed during Saturday Night Live's "Jingle Barack" sketch. The song parodies Run-DMC's “Christmas in Hollis,” and was co-written by Chance, Kenan Thompson, and Will Stephen.
The list of nominees for the 2017 Emmys also include Donald Glover's Atlanta series and Aziz Ansari's Master Of None. Fellow Chicago rapper Common is also nominated in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category for "Letter to the Free," a song from Ava DuVernay's 13th documentary.
