The list of nominees for the 2017 Mercury Prize has been revealed with Stormzy, J Hus, and Sampha all featuring on this year's list. The annual prize rewards one outstanding British album. Last year's prize was won by Skepta for Konnichiwa.
This year's list of nominees includes Stormzy, nominated for his 2017 debut Gang Signs & Prayer plus J Hus for his album Common Sense. Sampha, The xx, Loyle Carner, and Ed Sheeran also picked up nominations. The list is completed by albums from Alt j, Blossoms, Dinosaur, Glass Animals, The Big Moon, and Kate Tempest.

The Hyundai Mercury Prize Awards Show will take place at Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith on September 14. The shortlist of 12 albums is chosen by an independent judging panel who will select their winner on the night.
Albums by British and Irish artists with a U.K. release date between 30 July 2016 and 21 July 2017 are eligible for the 2017 Prize.
