Texas-native and writer Shea Serrano took to Twitter on Thursday night to share his "Fuck Hurricane Harvey" donation. The author of The Rap Yearbook posted his Venmo account and a Paypal email inviting his followers, known as the #FOHarmy, to also donate. Four hours later he raised over $90,000. Serrano currently lives in Houston and has been tweeting updates about the hurricane throughout the week. Their donations add to the pile of major donations that have been coming in from celebrities.
Serrano's best-selling book is getting turned into an AMC documentary set to come out in 2018. His next book Basketball (And Other Things) comes out October 10 of this year.
