Kyla's career took a surprise turn in 2016 when Drake sampled her 2008 U.K. funky classic "Do You Mind?" and flipped it into the biggest hit of both of their respective careers. Back with a new lease of life, and a major label deal to boot, Kyla's latest solo single is the breezy "You Ain't Mine" featuring Popcaan. The track captures a similar musical vibe to "One Dance," with the British singer lending her vocals to a song about a hook-up gone wrong.
Shot in Jamaica by director Lil Internet, the video is premiering today on The FADER. Kyla surrounds herself with plush greenery and palm trees as she lounges on a balcony and gets down with two energetic dancers. Popcaan drops in too, sporting a bucket hat in the Jamaican colors of green, black and yellow.
Speaking to The FADER about the video, Kyla said: "The song is about meeting a guy who you think is amazing but then shortly find out that he has a girl and that you are just a fling. Although he is falling in love with you, you have to move on and let him go. This is my second time working with Popcaan and it's always a pleasure."
