Whitney Rose, who's from Prince Edward Island, has a voice like candy apples and a new album coming out this October. It's called Rule 62, and the first single, "Can't Stop Shakin,'" is old school, dancing in a dive bar music. Premiering today on The FADER is its followup, "You Don't Scare Me," a slow-burning foot-tapper about not fearing heartbreak, because women do casual sex too, duh. "There's no damage you can do/ Ain't already done," she croons, sounding like she's fired up and ready to get it on. "You looked at me/ And you said, 'Well, just for tonight'/ I laughed and said, 'Babe that's fine.'"
"'You Don't Scare Me' is a spotlight on the ever-so-celebrated 'casual relationship,'" Rose told The FADER over email. "I think they're fascinating — especially when they last longer than originally intended. The thing that I find most striking about these kinds of relationships is that men tend to think they're more capable of them. That's just not the case."
