Part of a huge construction project in The Bronx, called Bronx Point, will include the Universal Hip-Hop Museum, according to a report by DNA Info. The project was recently approved by Community Board 4, which represents part of the Bronx borough. The complex will also include entertainment, retail and food venues, as well as 1,045 units of housing, half of which will be permanently designated to be affordable.
An effort to create the Universal Hip-Hop Museum has been in the works for four years. The Director of the Board, Rocky Bucano, has announced that the museum will include research areas, a performance space, and interactive entertainment. The first phases of the waterfront project are scheduled to be complete in 2022.
