Grimes has joined the list of artists who are keeping a Spotify playlist of the songs they love. "The faé list" features artists “who write and produce their own shit” and people she feels “a kinship towards in some capacity.” The artists on the playlist will be independent, where possible, too.
The playlist currently includes tracks from artists including SZA, Mitski, Kelela, Phoebe Bridgers, Lil Uzi Vert, and Cardi B's chart-topping "Bodak Yellow." You can stream and follow it below.
As for the name, Grimes describes faé as being a new genre of music she identifies as making. It's a style inspired by "knowing the earth may not sustain humanity much longer." She says fellow artists Purity Ring, Hana, and Nicole Dollanganger are also faé.
