Last night, Chance The Rapper made history on NBC's Saturday Night Live as one of the best hosts of all time. During his opening monologue, the 24-year-old spoke about the spirit of giving and how he wants to become the "Mariah Carey of Thanksgiving" and broke out into an original medley dedicated to "all the outcasts and weirdos of the family" that are invited to dinner. Later on, he touched on the holiday again in a hilarious sketch where he accused Batman's Bruce Wayne of racial profiling.
Since Chance comes from a hip-hop background, there had to be a sketch about rap thrown in the mix with a little help from Questlove and Common. The segment was a parody of a documentary about the history of hip-hop and the disconnect between different generations. During the sketch, Chance portrayed an MC from The Bronx in a group called the Soul Crush Crew that called out a disrespectful SoundCloud rapper that was reminiscent of Lil Pump.
Chance kept the Thanksgiving theme going in a Family Feud sketch with Leslie Jones and Kenan Thompson that was basically disguised as an episode of Maury with Chance pretending to be the long lost son of Harvey. Apparently, Chance is naturally gifted for the role of a sports announcer—unless it's hockey—if he ever wants to switch career paths. As for being a porn star or a pizza delivery man? Probably not his calling in life.
Obviously, Chance had to include an ode to Barack Obama in the show and his "Come Back Barack" sketch did not go unappreciated. Eminem closed the show with a performance of his new single "Walk on Water" as well as "Stan" and "Love the Way You Lie." Watch more clips from the latest episode of Saturday Night Live here.
