Joanne The Scammer creator Branden Miller is producing a new TV show for his famous character alongside comedian Chelsea Peretti, Splitsider reports. The untitled show is one of a slate of titles in production by studio/production company Super Deluxe.
Joe Mande, who has written on Parks & Recreation among others, is writing the Joanne The Scammer series with Brooklyn Nine-Nine actress Peretti acting as executive producer. There is no network attached to the project at the time of writing. The FADER has reached out for more information.
Speaking to Janet Mock on a July 2017 episode of her Never Before podcast, Miller said his TV show would expand on the sketches he has previously shared online. "If you know Joanne on Instagram, there are little snippets of her life," he said. "Instagram gives you one minute of that, the show will give you the whole storyline."
