Reggie Ossé, the podcaster known as Combat Jack, passed away this week after a battle with colon cancer. Fans of hip-hop may know him as the creator and host of The Combat Jack Show, a podcast launched in August 2010 with decades of credibility behind it thanks to Ossé's career as an entertainment lawyer for musicians, artists, and moguls in hip-hop. The success of The Combat Jack Show led to the formation of podcast association Loud Speakers Network, and an episodic podcast with Spotify called “Mogul: The Life and Death of Chris Lighty.”
Ossé's love for the art, interviewing skill, and character were remembered in posts across social media by hip-hop artists and figures of all kinds. Read a selection below.
