It seems as though Courtney Barnett is back. And though it really hasn't been that long since we've gotten music from the Australian artist— she dropped a groovy collaborative record with Philly rocker Kurt Vile last year— it feels as though ages have gone by since the racous wit of her last LP, 2015's Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit.
Today, Barnett tweeted out a teaser video titled "Tell Me How You Really Feel" that seems to confirm that a new record is just around the corner. The clip follows Barnett around the studio as she tries out various different instruments for good measure, testing out a few new lyrics along the way. It ends with a thrashing snippet of a new song titled "I’m Not Your Mother, I’m Not Your Bitch.” Barnett's website— which is asking fans to write 250 words or less on "how they really feel"— promises more this Thursday, Feb. 15. How's that for a belated Valentine's Day gift?
