Thanks to the overwhelming logistics of being sued at least six times, the Fyre Fest saga is still ongoing, with new information continually popping up. Last night, a major answer to exactly what the team behind the infamous three-day weekend did with their budget was revealed. According to court documents obtained by Page Six, promoter Billy McFarland dropped $160,000 on a yacht for Blink-182, who never actually showed up.
The same documents also show that McFarland, whose luxury festival famously did not come with running water, $18,208 on towels, $260,000 on carpet, and about $470,000 on the FEMA-esque tents that nobody could safely stay in.
“There was gross mismanagement and a general misunderstanding of how events like this unfold and that purchases weren’t being vetted,” a source told Page Six. “It was just the idea of a 20-something who unraveled.”
