I'm a sucker for emotionally honest street rap, and Quando Rondo keeps delivering. Last week, the Savannah, Georgia, rapper dropped a strong mixtape, Life B4 Fame. Like the loosies we'd heard from him before, the tape spans melodic confessionals about the ups-and-downs of his experiences — hustling, losing friends, getting locked up, and struggling to numb the pain that follows.
Today, The FADER is debuting the video for "Project Kid," off that same tape. The clip features audio snippets from local news broadcasts and what sounds like it could be a judge handing down a life sentence. “I’m a young nigga from the projects, on some project shit," Quando Rondo said in an email. Fair enough.
