In the past decade London-born producer Alex Da Kid has been behind the boards of many crossover rap hits, including Eminem and Rihanna's "Love The Way You Lie" plus B.o.B and Hayley Williams's "Airplanes." For his latest track, premiering today on The FADER, he has hooked up with rising R&B singer H.E.R., as well as the Grammy-nominated Rapsody.
"Go" is a soulful song about giving in to temptation after one too many. Built on a dusty drum beat and deep bass line, H.E.R. lays her feelings out on the line before Rapsody brings things into focus when she raps "Too far gone to lie about how I feel about you" over a delicate string section.
Speaking to The FADER, Alex said: “The song is about exploring the idea of escapism and all the multiple layers that come with that. I also wanted to work with two strong up and coming female artists that have interesting stories to tell.”
“Go" is available now. Listen to the track above.
