Rammellzee is an artist who came up as hip-hop was first emerging out of New York City, an iconoclast who showed the world of man that this new art form could be used to create strange new universes. His contributions extend to the domains of street art, sculpture, rap and beyond, and you can learn all about them in Red Bull Arts New York's new short documentary RAMMELLZEE: It’s Not Who But What. Written and directed by Oscar Boyson, the film's nine minutes fly by thanks to stylish and inventive editing, and of course, art that's still breathtaking and full of wonder. The film was released to close Red Bull Music Festival New York 2018, but you can still see Ram's art in person at the RAMMΣLLZΣΣ: Racing for Thunder exhibit through August 26, 2018.
