Everything Is Recorded shares “She Said” video
Featuring Obongjayar, Kamasi Washington, and the British Olympic judo team.
Earlier this year XL Recordings boss Richard Russel released a collaborative album under the name Everything Is Recorded. "She Said," a highlight from the record, is typical of the vibe. Rising British artist Obongjayar was found on Soundcloud and features alongside saxophonist Kamasi Washington on a melodic and soulful pop song recorded in just three hours at Russell's studio.
Today the "She Said" video premieres on The FADER. It's a good one for fans of both Olympic judo and the Japanese art of small trees. In it we see Obongjayar seemingly levitate as he delivers his deep-throated vocals before later being put through his paces by the women's British Olympic judo team.
Speaking to The Fader via email, Richard Russell said: "Making the video was a blast, Steven (Obongjayar) got beaten up by some badass female martial artists, and I got to use my bonsai skills.”
