Just Banco, a Manchester, U.K. rapper with good vibes on his mind, is the latest artist to sign to Dirty Hit, the label behind The 1975, Wolf Alice, and Pale Waves. His new single "Ashleigh," premiering above, sees Banco and his team take over a derelict commercial area in his hometown alongside motorbiking crew BIKELIFE.
The video, which was co-directed by 1975 frontman Matty Healy alongside Banco, is a grimy but celebratory take on underground culture in the north of England. It's the perfect partner for the song, a trap-influenced anthem to turn up to.
Speaking to The FADER about the visual via email, Just Banco said: "Matty and I directed this video, we had a cool vision on this one. I called out some people down to the shoot, so by the end of the night we had like 250 in this space in Manchester with cameras and bikes. I had my boys who are local dirtbike riders and their mates from different areas come down. They blasted tricks while we stayed up all night filming."
