The list of nominees for the 2018 Mercury Prize has been revealed with Jorja Smith, King Krule, and Novelist all featuring on this year's list. The annual prize rewards one outstanding British album. Last year's prize was won by Sampha for his debut Process.
Other nominated artists on this year's shortlist include Florence + The Machine, Wolf Alice, Everything Is Recorded, and Arctic Monkeys. The list is completed by albums from Everything Everything, Lily Allen, Nadine Shah, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, and Sons of Kemet.

The Hyundai Mercury Prize Awards Show will take place at London's Eventim Apollo on September 20. The shortlist of 12 albums is chosen by an independent judging panel who will select their winner on the night.
Albums by British and Irish artists with a U.K. release date between July 22, 2017 and July 20, 2018 are eligible for the this year's prize.
