Taylor Swift made history during this year's American Music Awards.
The singer became the most decorated artist who is a woman in the history of the AMAs after she won awards for Tour of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Album, and Artist of the Year. Swift, who had 19 AMA wins prior to this year's show, walked away with a total of 22 awards, beating Whitney Houston's longstanding record of 21 wins.
While giving a speech during her Artist of the Year win, Swift thanked fans and also reminded them to vote during the upcoming midterm elections, echoing the viral sentiment she shared on Instagram earlier this week.
"This award and every single award given out tonight were voted on by the people," she said. "And you know what else is voted on by the people... is the midterm elections on November 6. Get out and vote. I love you guys."
