DIIV have announced that their third album is officially coming this year. The band revealed the news in an Instagram post yesterday, simply captioned "hi lp3 2019." Pitchfork confirms that the album will be the band's first without Devin Ruben Perez, their former bassist who was found posting racist, homophobic and anti-semitic content on 4chan back in 2014. The band says Ruben Perez has been out of the band since December 2017.
DIIV's as-of-yet untitled third LP will mark their first project since Is the Is Are, which was released back in 2016. Since then, the band toured with Deafheaven and released a short documentary on Tidal called Deep DIIV, which has since been removed from the streaming platform.
