ZHU practices social distancing from Tinashe in his “ONLY” video
The Bay Area artist soundtracks a dance party for one.
Producer and singer ZHU has put together very appropriate #QuarantineContent with his new video "ONLY." The Jack Murgatroyd-directed visual features ZHU spying on himself and Tinashe through a pair of binoculars in an isolated building which plays off of the lyrics of constantly feeling alone. The moody opening of the song quickly picks up into an electronic, elastic beat to help you dance off the heavy snacking you might be doing at home.
Murgatroyd explained the inspiration for the video in an email: “The video nods to the current moment, that ubiquitous feeling of uncertainty and uneasiness. This was our creative approach to exploring those emotions, our abstract way of trying to tap into our feelings of isolation and redundancy."
And staying on brand for the #QuarantineContent, ZHU has created his own merch that includes face masks, aloe hand sanitizer, hoodies, and other accessories.
"ONLY" follows a string of singles from 2019 and his last project RINGOS DESERT from 2018.
