New Order should be gearing up for the "Unity" co-headlining tour of North America with fellow synth-pop giants Pet Shop Boys, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the groups to schedule the dates to 2021. Today, New Order have shared a brand new song "Be a Rebel," their first in five years.
Originally intended to be released in conjunction with the tour, "Be a Rebel" offers gilded optimism over similarly peppy electronics. “In tough times we wanted to reach out with a new song," New Order's Bernard Sumner said in a statement. "We can’t play live for a while, but music is still something we can all share together. We hope you enjoy it… until we meet again.”
