Last year, Waxahatchee shared one of 2020's very best albums with Saint Cloud, a project which hit No. 38 on our 2020 year-end roundup. In an interview with The FADER before the project's release, the artist born Katie Crutchfield told us that Saint Cloud was inspired by singer-songwriting legend Lucinda Williams. "It was very intentional to evoke Lucinda Williams on this album," she said. "Obviously, I wanted it to sound like myself, but I took a lot of cues from her for sure." It's already been a year since Saint Cloud was released, and today Waxahatchee is sharing the deluxe edition of the project with three new cover songs: Dolly Parton’s “Light Of A Clear Blue Morning,” Bruce Springsteen’s “Streets Of Philadelphia,” and "Fruits of My Labor" by Lucinda Williams. Hear how she makes all three songs her own below, via Stereogum.
