Billboard is reporting that Oakland rapper G-Eazy was arrested on Monday for allegedly committing an assault outside a New York hotel. Per the report, the incident occurred around 1am the Friday prior (September 10) outside the Standard Hotel, when the rapper, real name Gerald Gillum, punched two men. G-Eazy has not yet addressed the incident, but The FADER has reached out to his representatives for comment. The rapper, known for his Halsey collaboration "Him & I", was arrested over assault and drug possession charges in Sweden in 2018, after he allegedly attacked security guards while "acting belligerent"; police later found cocaine in his pocket. In a chaotically serendipitous twist, G-Eazy's latest single, "Breakdown (feat. Demi Lovato)", was released today, ahead of the release of his new record These Things Happen Too next Friday.
