Multinational alcoholic beverage company Diageo has announced today that they'll be ending their relationship with Diddy, Bloomberg reports. The two were partnered on the Combs Wines and Spirits businesses Ciroc and DeLeon tequila, and last month, Diddy sued Diageo for being "unwilling to treat its Black partners equally" and for sidelining "Black brands," despite claiming to be leaders in diversity and inclusion.
As announced in a court filing today (June 27), Diageo will no longer be working with Diddy or Combs Wines and Spirits. In the legal proceeding, Diageo asserted that they had "tried for years to salvage the broken relationship.” However, a spokeswoman for the company told the Independent that “Mr Combs’s bad-faith actions have clearly breached his contracts and left us no choice but to move to dismiss his baseless complaint and end our business relationship."
