Next month Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip-Hop will debut on Netflix. The limited documentary series focuses on the history of women in rap music, promising to " recontextualize the role the irrepressible women of hip hop played throughout the revolutionary genre’s 50 years by reinserting them into the canon where they belong: at the center, from day one to present day." The series will be available to stream from August 9 with a trailer streaming now, Check it out above.
As seen in the trailer, Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip-Hop will feature appearances from Roxanne Shante, Sha-Rock, Latto, Queen Latifah, Tierra Whack, Da Brat, Saweetie, and MC Lyte among many others.
