Billie Eilish has won the award for Song of the Year at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards for "What Was I Made For," a song from the soundtrack to the smash hit 2023 film Barbie. Elish shared the award with her brother and songwriting partner FINNEAS. "What Was I Made For?" peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, buoyed by its placement in Greta Gerwig's massively successful Barbie movie as well as a moment of TikTok virality. Watch her perform the song earlier on in the telecast here.

This year, the Recording Academy reduced the number of nominees in the “big four” categories — Album, Song, and Record of the Year, and Best New Artist — from 10 candidates to 8 after increasing the number in 2022. Eilish received six nominations at the 2024 show.
