Yuichi Yokoyama’s Travel

November 06, 2008

As New Yorkers, we feel like we're a pretty good authority on the ins-and-outs of public transportation, which is why Yuichi Yokoyama's new book Travel piqued our interest. The book follows the train ride of three men as they silently walk through the cars and are "confronted with the vehicle's architecture." We don't know what that means, but we imagine it's going to be more than three dudes staring at poles and seats. Travel is Yokoyama's study of the surreal nature of cramming into a moving box with hundreds of people every day, and it will either cast our morning commute into a new light or make us scared of trains forever. The book is available now from Picturebox. Click here to order and check out a few sample pages.
